I just got back from the Google open house session at Fed Hall. Apparently, Google now has an office in Waterloo and looking to hire co-ops and new grads. They had a decent variety of free food, including sushi, pizza, Google cake, etc. and some drinks (non-alcoholic). Unfortunately, the free Google shirts weren't provided due to an error on the supplier's part.
Among other things, today is Pi (π) Day, as well as UW Campus Day. This means there was a lot of of high-schoolers hanging around earlier this morning and afternoon, and MathSoc served free pie, sold Pi Day 2006 t-shirts, and held a pi reciting contest, which I incidentally had won. Even though I hadn't practiced for a while, I managed to restore my memory from high school times and correctly get the first 375 digits of pi's decimal expansion; then I made one slight mistake, which was promptly corrected, and went on to recite the first 420 digits. Apparently, this beats the previous MathSoc record.
I'm (hopefully) nearly done with my cogsci essay. It doesn't look too bad, although I still think I suck at doing proper research. I also think it's about time I should get serious about housing for this summer and fall, as well as talk to the co-op people regarding my proposed work/study term sequence change. I also still have to buy my plane tickets.

Yeah, that was a bit psychotic how long you kept going!
And I'm so mad that I had to leave before π o'clock, (er... π % 0.01 o'clock?) so I was unable to partake in free pie! ARGH!

In the end, all I can say is that human mind is truly mysterious.
